The short course on 'Principles and Applications of Time-resolved Fluorescence Spectroscopy' is intended for individuals wishing an in-depth introduction to the principles of fluorescence spectroscopy and its applications to the Life Sciences. It is held in cooperation with Dr. J.R. Lakowicz from the Center of Fluorescence Spectroscopy (CFS) in Baltimore.
The course covers the basics of steady state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy and instrumentation (time- and frequency-domain measurements, anisotropy, solvent effects, quenching and Foerster energy transfer, data analysis) and emphasises in its advanced part time-resolved fluorescence, together with advanced applications of fluorescence in biophysics, sensing, imaging, clinical chemistry, multi-photon excitation and ultrasensitive detection.
Registration deadline is 31st July 2008. A special course fee is offered for registrations until 31st May 2008 (early bird fee). Course enrolment is limited and early registration is recommended.
